ALL ABOUT PERSPECTIVES

June 20, 2017 VICTORIA UKPAKA 0 Comments

WHAT DO YOU SEE? ITS ALL ABOUT PERSPECTIVES….

I've got ideas and i've got the energy sizzling and shot up in my bones. Its so refreshing and i felt the world will soon bow to my unique and amazing idea. Oh how i can change the world! Do you need to ask? I have the courage bursting at its seams in me….

Then i ran out with so much ethusiasm sharing my world changing ideas. It took me several moments of my glee being answered with unsmiling faces to realise no one shared my joy? Probably they need to hear it in simpler terms…. So i delved into explaining…..

After hours of energy drained, what did i get? Blank expressions and murmurs that drenched my zeal leaving it bedraggled?

Why cant they see it? Why cant they see what i see? Why was it hard to accept the keys that can change the world? Just a little bit of faith, thats what a dream needs.

Perspectives build. Perspectives stagnates. Perspective tears down.

What do you see?
how do you see what you see?
What can you do about what you see and how you see it?

Perspective matter! Lets examine our perspectives! Lets rebuild what we have pulled down by revisiting our perspectives and do what we should do.

Perspectives matter!

HOW DO I?

June 06, 2017 VICTORIA UKPAKA 0 Comments

How do i tell you that i understand
How you feel?
How do i tell you that i wish i know
How to ease your pain?
If i tell i you i understand
It does sound so cliched.

It hurts so much that you go through
Such pain
It hurts so much to know the pain
Will always linger even if it dulls
With time.

I pray it gets better
I pray you get stronger
I pray the beautiful memories remain
Alive always and never get dim.

YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

June 06, 2017 VICTORIA UKPAKA 0 Comments

I have walked the streets of experience
Which to some will mean less
But it doesnt make the learnt lessons
Less efficacious

You walked in and showed the difference
What it means to walk same path
And still leave ground breaking impact
I am glad to be able to look through your lens
And see your thoughts of me
You really make the difference

In this short while, i have had reasons
To see a real life replica of my thought
I cant stress it enough
you make the best difference.

SAED EXPERIENCE, ICT CLASS: TREASURES IN EARTHEN VESSELS (PART 1)

June 06, 2017 VICTORIA UKPAKA 1 Comments

All of a sudden i had a jolt of a reality that graduation was close and i will have no excuse anymore to be reliant on my parents. Fear gripped my heart. What will i do when i graduate? Recently i started paying close attention to the world around me and i saw the rate of unemployment and the downsizing going on in some companies and i wondered if those before me are still unemployed after getting their degrees and those already on the job being downsized, what was the hope that i will get a paying job with my B.sc?"
This is definitely the thought of some prospective graduates and it goes downnhill from there for those already graduated with months on their belts without a job. Its depressing and not encouraging for those still in school working with so much zeal to graduate and work with their degrees. I always knew there is never an end just a bend. for the fact that you cant see a solution doesnt mean its not there. Months of trying to get my footing on purpose brougt me finally to Nysc; Nigeria youth service corps whereby during the orientation camp at Asaya, Kogi state, Nigeria, i got introduced to hope in the form of skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development program. Its organized by Nysc to show young people that they have treasures within and they can make multiple streams of income with what they have. specifically, i got properly motivated by the ICT instructor of the class i joined, Mr Ohis. He broadened the horizon and i saw a clearer picture of part of my goals which is inspiring people to reach their goals at the same time creating employments for myself and others. Afterall The Holy Bible says "a man's gift makes room for him and will bring him before kings.

MY FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

June 06, 2017 VICTORIA UKPAKA 0 Comments

Looking back now at my first day at the University, I can’t help but laugh though it wasn’t funny being in the middle of nowhere in a foreign place  with no friends yet, with the old students treating me like I have come to upset their atmosphere just by breathing. My dad had dropped me off and tried to combat the stream of people at the bank to pay my fees, after which he said his farewells and left. I was at loss at where to start from; every eye that looked at me seemed to know I’m just arriving. I can’t remember how many times I got lost trying to locate the administrative block and at the same time too tied up in knots with trepidation to ask for direction. What topped off the icing of the cake was when I couldn’t locate my bag which literally contained my life; my money, my credentials name it. I couldn’t believe it was happening to me, I have never being a clumsy person but new places can leave me befuddled. It was in my state of anxiety that I met someone who in the long run became my best friend. He didn’t laugh at me but helped me locate my bag which happened not to be missing because I didn’t remember where I had left it since most of the buildings lookeds alike. I learnt though that asking questions doesn’t make you stupid, it saves time.

CAST A STONE -st John 8:3-11

Lietha Earthy, a woman of the world through and through, known for her skill of drawing men of all ages to her bed all of a sudden saw her world falling apart like a pack of cards when she was caught in bed with one of the supposedly “reputable men” of Scion county. Thinking that since it takes two to tango that she will be sharing the humiliation with her male partner in the “adultery” crime, shocked and dismayed she found out that the society disgraces the woman that has multiple sex partners and pats the man on the back for being “the man” if he does same, the unfairness of it all gnawed at her. She saw her life flash before her eyes when the angry mob of so called wronged men and women pulled and dragged her through the streets with derogatory words to the centre of the city where she will be lynched.
Now in the middle of all the rage and fury Christos being an embodiment of wisdom saved the day, as he poked holes in the act of self-righteousness of the mob as they were all puffed up with indignation and condemnation, sending them off with their tails behind their legs, he offered Lietha grace and redemption.
All too glad to leave her past behind, Lietha leaped to the gift of a new life.

TODAY'S GIFT

June 06, 2017 VICTORIA UKPAKA 0 Comments

One summer evening, Markus received a call as he was working late as usual, immediately he heard what the other person on the line had to say, the phone fell off his fingers as he became numb with shock. His best friend Lawrence walked in as he snapped out of the dazed look and pushed away all the papers on the table with a growl that sounded like it was dragged painfully out of him, he looked up at his friend and said,” Law, what have I done? I should have been there when she needed me. Instead I sent her money every time she needed to see me; I gave excuses that I was busy. I lost all my friends that meant a lot to me, I can’t even indulge in doing the things I love; I got caught up in pursuing shadows, instead of substance. The only person who stood by me and believed in me while every other person gave up on the “local boy” is gone because I never made out time to spend with her, even while she was in the hospital. I never enjoyed today’s gift because I always put it off for tomorrow, now my mother is gone and I never told her how much I Love her and appreciated or celebrated her.” Markus sat down and held his face in his hands and wept.

Lawrence was speechless as he had no words suitable enough to console his best friend.

REFINED GOLD

June 06, 2017 VICTORIA UKPAKA 0 Comments

One Tuesday morning, all the first year students of Angeles University converged at the general hall to be addressed by a prominent motivational speaker. Soon afterwards, the speaker arrived and addressed the students.

“Good day beautiful people” his voice resonated across the hall
“Good day sir.” They all chorused.
“Some of you may know me while some don’t, but I’m generally known as Dr Michael, before I proceed, I would like one of you to ask me a question probably that have been bothering you and you want answers or pointers to it.”
A male student stood up and asked, “Sir, why can’t we go for something and get it immediately? Why is there so much work on the road to success?”
Dr Michael replied, “The road to success is never smooth because of the nature of man. Most times we take for granted what we didn’t work for. And the bumps we encounter along the way such as challenges and losses is such that our character will be refined as gold, and by the time we reach our destination, we will know how to appreciate where we are and how to handle matters that arise. Learn to have an ‘I can do it’ mentality, it helps you to look for ways and solutions instead of grumbling and it builds steadiness of character.”

After a few more words of encouragement, everyone dispersed, some students thoughtful over what they heard.
